SPRINGING!

So, I don't know...but I feel so much better than I have for the past few months. So many things happened that I just didn't handle very well. However...maybe it's because it is spring or because my friend, Steve, is coming along so very well in his rehab, or could simply be that there's been a little more sun lately. Whatever, I am feeling more hopeful, healthier and more interested in what's going on.

Normally I am such a positive person and it's been difficult to experience negative feelings for such an extended period of time.
I really do see in my own heart a lot of light emerging where there was little for what seemed like a long time. Enough of that.

Soon I will celebrate my 60th birthday. Wow! Where has the time gone? Not a new sentiment for those of a certain age, I know but so strange to be coming into my 60th year on this earth. I feel so lucky. I'm thinking that I'll go to Trattoria Marcella for my celebration. Haven't fully decided yet but think that's what I'll do.

Recently went to have lunch at the new Companion Cafe in the CWE. I am not a cookie fan, really but I tried their ginger cookie. OMG! It is literally the very best cookie I have ever had in my life...with the possible exception of some of the cookies that used to get made at my house back in the day : ) Love the soup and cornbread lunch there, too. Seems like they always have a vegetarian soup, at least the three times I've been there, they did.
Really worth a visit. They also have community-oriented events there weekly. A very cool place with good food.

Thanks for reading and say hi if you're moved to do so.

NEW RESTAURANT...AT LEAST FOR ME

I discovered in the Bosnian district of St. Louis a new and very tasty restaurant.
The Berix Coffee Restaurant at 5053 Gravois was a very pleasant surprise.
It was clean, bright and offered several vegetarian selections, although not listed that way, as well as some very beautiful (if not incredibly healthy) dessert items, for very attractive prices.

I had something called Zeljanica or Spinach/cheese pie...so light and tasty. I admit that I also indulged in one of their beautiful desserts, a walnut cake and was surprised and gratified that it wasn't very sweet at all but had a great walnutty flavor.

Don't have time to tell more, either about the restaurant or about any decisions I talked about in my last entry...but will try to post more later.

Thanks for reading.
