HOW CAN I BE SO LUCKY...HEALTHY, TASTY AND RIGHT IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD!

Stellina Pasta Cafe might just be one of the finest cafes I've ever had the pleasure to eat in. The noodles, greatest comfort food ever, are made healthier with a good dose of whole wheat flour and Omega 3-rich flax. Wow! Am I dreaming? Is this St. Louis.

In a town where pasta is practically a sacred word and all we have ever known is white pasta with the gloppiest of sauces, how can there be a light, tasty, wonderful, dreamy, deee-licious pasta like the ones made at Stellina Pasta Cafe? However we lucked out, I can only say don't stop.

I've only eaten there twice and already I'm convinced that this will be my new, nearly daily (or however often I can dig into my pockets and come up with some extra dough) favorite place. Why not? It's great tasting. It's affordable. It has a wonderful, small neighborhood ambiance. It's supporting a couple of really nice folks. They started selling their wonderful pastas at the farmer's markets and now. lucky us, there's a cafe.

I can't say enough about the pasta....or the desserts. I had a strawberry/chocolate torte sorta thing and a macaroon. Both---exquisite!

Next, I will try the salads, the soup and that delightful-sounding Veg Out Sandwich.
To the food gods who made this neighborhood wonder happen, I can only say, "thanks. you've answered a long-standing food prayer of mine...to have a healthy, simple, tasty neighborhood cafe."

Wow! Visit Stellina Pasta Cafe at 3342 Watson Road (just down the street from another favorite, Trattoria Marcella).

Oh, and they say they'll have their liquor license soon. A good glass of wine with that whole wheat pasta and some lovely kind of sauce...what else could one ask for?
